Solutions

Because this new technology is racing toward us like an unbridled tsunami some of us feel paralised by fear, confusion and ignorance. And when we lose our jobs, that took us long and expensive years to attain, to machines, we are going to be really unhappy.

If we think the suicide rate is high now, wait until people, en-masse, feel hopeless!

We have to get ahead of this threat and do so with some urgency.

Yes, people have always been innovative and survivors in times past, but the world has never faced a condition so complex and at such a time of converging problems, morally, politically, militarily, educationally, racially, culturally, religiously and socially. Huge segments of all populations have turned to illicit and legal drugs to help them cope which has left them weaker as individuals. We have a generation of weaklings who run to the doctor or dealer for means to get them through the day instead of fighting for their rightful space.

When the new robot invasion comes to our town, will you be ready? or will you reach for the whiskey bottle?

Well, guess what?...

It does not need to be like this, we should not succumb to this, there is enough strength in every human to not only cope but excel at overcoming challenges. All we need is a compass to guide us out of our fear and trembling and confusion and lead us to solutions.

Welcome aboard the solutions platform.

What follows are a series of "What-if" questions designed to inspire a new paradigm regarding the threat...(work that robots cannot do)

  • What if, you spend more time thinking about other peoples problems and how you could be a catalyst to remedy some of them?
  • What if, instead of greed for more shiny shit, we spent our resources (talents and skills) in being self-sufficient and healthy?
  • What if, we had a change of heart and decided to embed an effective moral compass within our beings instead of looking for gaps in the law?
  • What if, we humbled ourselves and formed clubs to learn basic skills such as survival gardening, or carpentry, or welding skills that are vital and not really a robot thing?
  • What if we became caregivers to the elderly or handicapped?
  • What if, we stopped the habit of watching TV and started something useful and new?
  • What if, we learned as much as we can now, to understand robots (AI machines) and get ready to open a robot repair center, for mechanical and or software?
  • What if, we bought a robot and hired it out? think of a million scenarios in which you could get a robot to do the work while you spend more time with your kids?

I have some ideas that will effect positive change if we all work together to make it happen. Do you want to get together and contribute some of your wisdom?

Here are some of the tools and programmes I have already started and could do with some added insight:

A moral values enrichment programme www.coolvalues.co.za

An academy to assist those who are unemployed www.goyam.co.za

A new book entitled Life's Map and Compass which acts as a thought changer for those stuck in a rut.

Mark my words, it is 2020 and by 2030 it will all have changed, and you may be left behind. Don't let that happen to you, become conscious of AI - AGI and ASI and join them, because you cannot beat them!

Indoor Farms

We can grow our own food inside our homes, is this not a skill we should be developing ahead of the problem?
